We set out to find one.

We’re Curtis and Cara Leopardo. We have four kids. And for years, movie night at our house looked like a low-grade stakeout — one of us hovering with a thumb on the remote, ready to dive the second a show turned. We’d start something billed as “family-friendly,” get four minutes in, and end up explaining something at dinner we never planned to.

We kept waiting for someone to build the thing we needed: a place where every show was already safe to turn on. Nobody did. So we did.

That’s We The Studios — and here’s the whole story of why.

The problem nobody was solving

The big platforms aren’t evil. They’re just not built for families. They’re built to have something for everyone, which means they also have plenty that’s not for your eight-year-old. The “kids section” is a fenced-off corner of a much bigger place, and the fence has gaps.

So parents are left doing the work — setting up parental controls, reading reviews, filtering, hovering. We were exhausted by it. We didn’t want a better filter. We wanted content that didn’t need one.

Why us

Cara spent 18 years in Hollywood production. Then she stepped away for 13 years to raise our four kids. Curtis was building businesses. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, we realized we had the exact combination the problem required: the industry know-how to actually make shows, and the lived experience of being the parents those shows are for.

We weren’t outsiders guessing at what families want. We are the family. Every standard we set, we set as parents first.

The line in the sand

When we say a show is safe at We The Studios, we mean a real standard — not a vibe. No profanity. No sexual content. No glorifying alcohol. Not “mostly.” Not “depends on the episode.” Every series, every episode.

Because we produce our own shows, clean isn’t a setting you switch on — it’s the whole catalog. There’s nothing to filter, because nothing bad was ever filmed. That’s the difference between us and a filtering service: they clean up somebody else’s content after the fact. We make it right from the first frame.

What we’re building

Original shows for families — comedy, reality, and heart — the kind of TV that used to be normal and somehow disappeared. Shows like Raising Reynolds, Mr. Miami & Me, That Girl Lola, and XO, Curtis & Cara, where you can literally watch us build this company and this family at the same time.

We’re American, family-owned, and family-operated. This isn’t a brand exercise for us. It’s our actual life — four kids, one marriage, and a studio we built because the thing we needed didn’t exist.

Nobody’s making TV for families anymore. So we did.

Come see what we built.

Start Watching

We didn’t set out to start a streaming company.
